About Amanda: I grew up in Southern Minnesota and remembering visiting the Brainerd Lakes Area in my youth. After graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the College of St. Benedict in 1990, my husband and I bought a home in the Nisswa area. I completed my Master's Degree in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University in 1993. I have been working in outpatient mental health at various local clinics since 1993. I have practiced at Northern Psychiatric Associates since the clinic opened in March 2007.
My husband and I have raised our 3 children in the Brainerd School District and have enjoyed all that this area has to offer. We feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place.

Licenses: Licensed Psychologist by MN Board of Psychology

Patients Age: Ages 8 to 80

Hobbies: I enjoy time with family and friends on the lake; boating, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, swimming, and time around the camp fire. Our HART rescue dog, Sadie, is a constant companion. I also love to travel, hike, read, and recently re-learned how to crochet!

Favorite Part of your Job: I love coming to work knowing that I will be surrounded by a wonderful team of professionals whom I am happy to call my friends. I also enjoy seeing my clients grow in self confidence and find peace as they work through the challenges they are facing. I am proud to be a part of a community that is working so hard to erase the stigma of mental illness.
